For Conroe Municipal Judge

A Commitment to Serve Conroe with Fairness and Integrity

I am not a politician, and I do not see this role as political. I see it as a responsibility; one rooted in trust, fairness, and accountability. For more than four decades, my life’s work has been centered on serving people. That calling is what leads me to offer myself in service to the City of Conroe.

My name is Jay Gross, and I am running for Conroe Municipal Judge.

Service Has Always Been My Calling

My wife, Dianna, and I have lived in Conroe for 26 years. This is where we raised our family. This is where we worship, serve, and live alongside friends and neighbors we care deeply about. Conroe is our home.

For 43 years, I served as a pastor. During that time, I sat with people in hospital rooms and living rooms, in moments of grief, fear, and uncertainty. I walked with individuals facing accountability and difficult consequences. I also had the privilege of standing with families during their greatest joys and celebrations.

Those years shaped who I am today. They taught me how to listen carefully, how to understand what drives and motivates people, and how to lead with wisdom and compassion while still holding firm to what is right.

I am running for Conroe Municipal Judge because I believe the court should reflect those same values. The Municipal Court is often where people encounter the justice system most directly. I believe that experience should be fair, respectful, and grounded in the law.

Experience Built on Listening, Discernment, and Trust

My calling placed me in many different kinds of churches, from small, rural congregations where trust was built face-to-face, to urban churches serving diverse needs, to large suburban congregations. For 25 years, I served as Senior Pastor of West Conroe Baptist Church, never losing sight of the individual within the crowd.

Each role required thoughtful leadership, ethical decision-making, and a deep understanding of people from all walks of life.

I retired from full-time ministry in June of 2023, but I have continued to serve in interim roles. I currently serve as Interim Executive Director of the Galveston Baptist Association, a position that concludes on March 31st.

” Through every season and every role, my focus has remained the same: serve people well, lead with integrity, and responsibly honor the trust placed in me. “

My background includes:

Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science, University of Houston–Clear Lake

Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary

43 years of pastoral ministry

Senior Pastor, West Conroe Baptist Church (25 years)

Service on trustee boards for Houston Baptist University (now Houston Christian University) and the International Mission Board
